theoutercoveringofthenutmeg.Nutmegandlettucesoupisverygoodfor  
depressionandnervousdisorders.Maceisanantisepticandisdeliciousin  
sweetdishes.Sprinklenutmegandmaceoncookedfruit,usewithcinna-  
moninsweetdishes,orgrateontopotatoes,cabbage,onions,orleeks.The

anaphrodisiac,butbeawarethatinlargequantitiestheycanbehallucinatory.  
Nutmeg encourages menstruation and can be abortive in large quanti-  
tiestherefore avoid it during pregnancy.  
Parsley(Petroselinumcrispum)comesinmanyvarieties,allofwhicharein-  
crediblytastyandhealth-giving.Parsleyhasaveryhighvitaminandmineral  
contentandisveryrichinchlorophyll.Iuseditalotwhenmakingmybabies  
theirfirstfoods.Milletandparsleymakesagoodcombinationforprotein,  
iron,calcium,vitaminC,chlorophyll,andmanyothernutrients.Tryparsleyin  
soups,stews,orsalads,notjustasagarnish,towhichstatusitisusuallyrel-  
egated.Itisabloodcleanserthehighironcontenthelpstheblood.Italso  
acts as a diuretic and digestive through increasing bile flow, so one could  
callitadigestiveandadetoxifier.Donotmakeitintostrongteasifyouare  
pregnant or suffer from heavy periods, as the estrogen within it could be  
unsuitable.  
Pepper(Pipernigrum),specificallyblackpepper,isanticatarrhal,antimucus,  
antifungal, and antibacterial, as well as being a natural preservative. It  
shouldbefreshlygroundandaddedafterthefoodhasbeencooked;cook-  
ingchangesitschemistry,makingitmoreaggressivetothestomach.White  
pepper produces acids and is almost a mature fruit when the skin is re-  
moveduse it only as a seed to flavor, and do not eat in large quantities.
