Red Velvet Cake

This recipe is a great old Southern cake. It has been around for a long time. No self-  
respecting Southern lady would be without her recipe for Red Velvet Cake. It is sinfully  
delicious - just like my romance novels!

1/2 cups cooking oil  
1/2 cups sugar  
eggs  
tsp. cocoa  
oz. red cake food coloring (1 bottle)  
tsp. vinegar  
tsp. baking soda  
½ cups plain flour  
cup buttermilk mixed with 1 ½ tsp. vanilla extract  
Frosting:

stick margarine  
-oz. pkg. cream cheese  
box confectioners sugar  
cup finely chopped nuts  
Preheat oven to 350F.  
Cream together the oil, sugar and eggs  
Mix the cocoa, food coloring and vinegar. Add to first mixture.
