cups Sweetened Whipped Cream -- (see recipe)
Heat oven to 350º.
Melt in square pan in oven:

/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter
Sprinkle over margarine:

/3 cup packed brown sugar
Put on top of brown sugar mixture:
1 can (about 16 ounces) sliced pineapple, drained
If you like, put in centers of pineapple slices:
Maraschino cherries
Beat in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping
bowl all the time:

1/3 cups all-purpose flour
cup granulated sugar
/3 cup shortening
/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoons baking powder
/2 teaspoon salt
large egg
Beat batter with electric mixer on high speed 3 minutes, scraping bowl a
few times. Pour batter over fruit mixture in pan.
Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until toothpick poked in center comes out clean.
Adult help: Immediately turn pan upside down onto heatproof serving plate.
Let pan remain over cake a few minutes, then remove pan.
Serve warm and, if you like, with:
Sweetened Whipped Cream (see recipe)

TIP
If any pieces of pineapple or cherries stick to the pan when you
